DeVonta Smith, WR

The second wide receiver to land on this list, DeVonta Smith is a guy who has benefited a ton from sticking it out one more year at the collegiate level. Despite being overshadowed by the likes of Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs last year, plenty of people felt Smith should have declared for the 2020 Draft, likely to be taken in the late first/early second.

However, Smith opted to return to Alabama this year to be the team’s unquestioned WR1, and he’s simply been putting on a freakin’ show. He’s put up dominant performance after dominant performance, and many mocks now have him as the second best overall WR heading into this year’s draft. As I’m writing this he’s currently dominating the reigning national champions (LSU), as he has three touchdowns and over 200 receiving yards

Smith has already surpassed his catch total from last year, and is well on his way to set career highs in essentially every major statistical category.

Smith has good size, good hands, good speed, and fantastic YAC ability. Similar to that of Chase, his presence alone could do a lot in terms of fixing the Eagles lethargic passing offense. Chase is still likely the better overall WR prospect, but at some point we’re splitting hairs between the two.
