Philadelphia Eagles: Best Bets for Week 12 against the Seattle Seahawks
Carson Wentz Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+114)
The guy who has become the most talked about player not only on the Philadelphia Eagles, but also in the entire NFL in 2020.
Carson Wentz has been under fire all season long for his play as starting quarterback for the Eagles. Granted, a lot of it has been deserved for how poorly it has been, as it’s gotten to the point where people have been calling for the backup for weeks. Wentz has not performed well in the first year of the newly founded “Quarterback Factory”.
With all of that said, we could see a different Carson Wentz on Monday.
The last time these two teams met, Wentz was cheap-shotted out of his first playoff game, which led to a Seahawks win in Philadelphia. That thought should be lingering in the back of Wentz’ mind heading into this game as he looks to get even.
As previously mentioned, this Seattle Seahawks defense has been very getable and has let opposing quarterbacks have their way with them. In six of his ten games, Wentz has thrown at least two touchdown passes. In seven of their ten games, the Seahawks have given up at least two passing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks.
Another positive sign comes from a recent change on the offensive line, as Jordan Mailata is set to take over at left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles. In the four games Mailata has started this year at left tackle, Wentz has thrown at least two touchdown passes in three of those games.
History also suggests Wentz finds the end zone multiple times on Monday. In his five Monday night games, he’s thrown nine touchdowns to three interceptions with a 4-1 record, including multiple touchdown passes in the last four games. Take it a step further. In his 18 night games, Wentz has thrown 32 touchdowns to 13 interceptions with a 12-6 record.
We can all agree it has been a very bad year for Carson Wentz. Very uncharacteristic compared to what we have seen the last few years. Throw everything out the window now. When Wentz plays on primetime, he’s different. He gives the Philadelphia Eagles a chance to win and shows why he is the starting quarterback of this team.
