Eagles: Nothing

Sorry. I really tried. But as special as the holiday season is supposed to be, a time to count your blessings, there is zero to be happy with when it comes to this Eagles team. From increasingly poor management decisions to broken-down players who can’t stay healthy to a supposed franchise savior who has fallen off a cliff and is truly painful to watch, the Birds offer no hope at this point in time.

If you really want to stretch things, you can say that the Eagles and their fans should be thankful that the rest of the NFC East is so bad that 5-10-1 might actually win this thing, but it’s a pure delusion to think that this season will net anything positive. The 2020 Eagles are basically the dumpster scene in Mulholland Drive. You know what’s coming, yet it’s still going to get you.

In fact, due to awful contracts and poor roster construction, it’s not hard to see the next several years being just as bad as this one. Sadly, a whole new regime might be needed before this mess ever gets moving back in the right direction.

I’ll admit that the Eagles have some talented individual players. But who are we talking about? Miles Sanders? This team doesn’t run the ball. Dallas Goedert? How is a tight end going to make a big difference when the rest of the team’s receiving corps is so pathetic? There aren’t any game-breakers on defense either.

Next. Time for the Eagles to embrace the tank?. dark

I would say wake me up when 2020 is over, but you may want to sleep on the Eagles until 2024. But I feel like I’ve deviated here because wasn’t this supposed to be about giving thanks? Yes, but I’m afraid that we won’t be thankful until this Birds team has played its last snap of the season.
