10 infielders the Philadelphia Phillies could target in the offseason

Tommy La Stella, 2B
2020 Team: Oakland Athletics
2020 Salary: $3.25 million
If the Philadelphia Phillies are looking to replace more of Gregorius’ offensive production as opposed to his defense, investing in a guy like Tommy La Stella would likely be their best bet (outside of Lindor obviously). Prior to his tibia injury in 2019, La Stella was legitimately one of the best batters in the entire American League. He slashed .296/.346/.486 across 80 games, and was on pace for a 30+ home run season.
He bounced back fairly well this past season, hitting .281 with an .819 OPS. His power numbers were a bit down compared to his All-Star season the year prior, but he was still an extremely productive hitter at the plate.
La Stella is exclusively a second baseman, so again this goes with the idea that the Philadelphia Phillies are okay with moving Segura back to shortstop. La Stella is a pretty solid defensive infielder as well, as his error numbers are always low and his fielding percentage ranks towards the higher side.
La Stella’s market in free agency is a bit of an unknown, as he holds some name value to him but he’s still only a year removed from that nasty broken tibia that he suffered. COVID-19 revenue losses could bring his asking price way down, which is where the Phillies could swoop in and snag him on an affordable deal.
