Jordan Howard, RB

Proposed trade: Future seventh-round pick to MIA, Jordan Howard to PHI

When rumors started to pop up regarding the Philadelphia Eagles potentially being interested in bringing Jordan Howard back, I was fairly lukewarm to the idea. Howard’s tenure in Philly ended with a super weird injury situation, and his failure to earn a significant role in Miami of all places was concerning to say the least.

I really wasn’t a fan of shooting away draft capital for an aging backup RB who probably wasn’t 100% healthy. With that said, considering how Miami played out their own respective trade deadline, Howard likely could’ve been had for absolute pennies.

The Dolphins went out and acquired veteran RB DeAndre Washington from the Cheifs, adding to their relatively crowded running room. Staring back Myles Gaskin is set to miss around three weeks with a knee injury, but even then, the team runs fairly deep at RB now.

With another mouth to feed now in the building, it’s hard to imagine Howard taking another snap for the Dolphins this season. The Dolphins likely would have jumped at the idea to trade him away for a future 7th rounder, and the Eagles would in turn solidify their RB2 position for at least the remainder of the 2020 season.
