Kenny Stills, WR

Current Team: Houston Texans

Look, I absolutely adore Greg Ward. His story is one of the most heartwarming ones that I’ve gotten to see unfold in my lifetime. However, if we’re all being completely honest, there’s just no way that he should be a starting slot receiver on a team looking to make the playoffs.

Despite his 243 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns through the first eight games of the season, Ward’s yards per reception has dwindled down to 7.6. That’s good for 143rd in the entire NFL.

143rd!

Now obviously, the Philadelphia Eagles don’t ask Ward do to a whole lot outside of running 5 yard curl routes, but nevertheless you’d like to see more explosive production out of your starting wide receivers.

Kenny Stills‘ name has been floated around in trade talks as early as the offseason, and he would immediately slot in as the Eagles best receiver on the inside. He’s put up 500+ yard seasons in each of his last four years, and is only owed $3.5 million on the rest of his 2020 contract.

It would very much be a win-now “rental” type of trade, but considering the state of the Texans (they are reportedly entertaining calls on everyone outside of Watson, Watt, and their two starting tackles), Stills could probably be had for a super late-round draft pick.
