Will Parks

It was reported earlier in the week that the Philadelphia Eagles were actively shopping veteran safety Will Parks, so one can only assume that they are still doing that.

Signed in the offseason to help fill the void left by Malcolm Jenkins departing, Parks’ Philadelphia tenure has been less than ideal. He suffered a fairly severe hamstring injury right before the season kicked off, and wasn’t able to return until Week 6.

For what it’s worth, Parks is definitely a more natural fit at strong safety compared to that of Jalen Mills, but his snap count hasn’t really reflected that. He saw just 17 total snaps against the Giants in Week 7, and then only 28 against Dallas.

Despite the limited playing time, Parks actually had himself a really productive game against the Cowboys. He finished the evening with 5 tackles and 2 TFLs, undoubtedly making his presence known on national television. This could either convince Philly to keep him around, or it could heighten his trade value to the point where Roseman gets an offer he can’t refuse.

Regardless, moving Parks for a draft pick definitely isn’t a bad move for the Eagles. He’s set to be a free agent in the offseason, and he’s eating up snaps that could be filled by rookie safety K’Von Wallace.

It sucks that Parks never really got a genuine shot at winning the starting job on the Eagles, but it is what it is.
