AJ Green

Current team: Cincinnati Bengals

Unlike the before mentioned John Ross, AJ Green is a wide receiver on the Cincinnati Bengals who would actually come in and make a significant difference on the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s struggled as of late, but a lot of that can be attested to the Bengals borderline phasing him out of the offense in lieu of Tee Higgins’ emergence.

Prior to Green’s injury in 2019, the veteran pass-catcher was one of the best WRs in the NFL. He recorded five straight 1,000 yard receiving seasons to kick off his career, and then recorded another one in 2017. He also posted double digit touchdown seasons in 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Green obviously isn’t the same player now that he was in the early 2010s, but he could still provide Wentz with a go-to number one target on the outside. He essentially plays the same position as Travis Fulgham however, so the blossoming practice squad call-up would likely see a dip in snaps should Green join Phily.

There’s obvious pros to acquiring someone of Green’s caliber, but seeing someone young and exciting like Fulgham lose snaps would likely hurt the team in the long run.

Green also carries a ~$9 million cap number for the rest of the 2020 season, which is less than ideal for the Eagles future cap problems.
