The Philadelphia Eagles are going to beat the Cowboys, and here’s why.

It’s Dallas week! Easily one of the most anticipated games of the year for Philly fans, the first matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys always ends up being a good one. While the two teams’ records aren’t in the prettiest of shapes at the moment, the slugfests that occur when Philadelphia and Dallas meet always end up living up to the hype.

The Philadelphia Eagles have stumbled to a 2-4-1 record up to this point, battling countless injuries and controversies at every turn. Despite all that, the team sits in a somewhat favorable spot at the moment. They are in fact in first place, and they’re pretty universally favored over the Cowboys heading into the weekend.

While I don’t think it will be some wild blowout win, I do think the Eagles walk out of Week 8 victorious, and here’s why:

Superior head coach.

It hasn’t been the greatest of seasons for Doug Pederson thus far, but he’s still ultimately Doug Pederson. He’s a Super Bowl winning head coach who has been exceptional at getting his guys to consistently rally against all odds.

Mike McCarthy on the other hand has had a simply disastrous start to his Dallas career, and he doesn’t command that same level of respect that Doug does. The Cowboys offense and defense have been poor, the play calling has been below average, and players don’t seem to respect McCarthy in the slightest.

Pederson’s own play calling has been pretty horrendous here in 2020, but I wouldn’t even consider betting against him in this scenario. He’s just a way better head coach than McCarthy.
