The defense is bad again!

After a really good outing from the defense against the Niners, it appears that may have just been one giant result of Nick Mullens being horrible at football. Considering the fact that the 1-3 Miami Dolphins are blowing out San Fran as I type this up, it does seem to be trending in that direction.

Second-round pick Chase Claypool exploded for a completely absurd four TDs, Big Ben was a perfect 13-13(!) on third downs, wide receiver Ray-Ray McLeod rushed for 63 yards on two end-arounds, and the Pittsburgh Steelers offense finished with 39 total points.

The Philadelphia Eagles defensive line was their usual disruptive selves, but only managed to log one sack on the afternoon.

All in all, the Eagles defense looked absolutely miserable.

Whether it’s due to Jim Schwartz’ tactics, Jalen Mills playing corner again, a league-worst LB room, an aging defensive line, an overall lack of talent, or a combination of all of the above, the Eagles defense does not appear to be one that is actually of postseason caliber.

Carson Wentz and the offense actually managed to hang 29 points on an elite Steelers D. That needs to be enough to win a football game considering the state of the team’s WR room and offensive line.
