The Philadelphia Eagles are now 1-3-1 on the season.

The problem isn’t that the Philadelphia Eagles lost this weekend, the problem is that they seemingly shot themselves in the foot on 30 different occasions resulting in said loss.

Despite being wild underdogs heading into the matchup, the Eagles found themselves in a position to steal a victory late in the fourth quarter. However, due to poor execution, blown coverages, and overall silly mistakes, the Eagles will instead travel back to Philadelphia with three losses to their name.

Here are my three takeaways from the 38-29 defeat:

Travis Fulgham is “a baller”.

Sometimes Eagles fans tend to overdramatize the performance of the team’s practice squad heroes, making them out to be better than they actually are. For example, someone like Boston Scott has failed to even look like a serviceable backup despite his iconic 2019 finish.

However, this Travis Fulgham kid kinda looks like the real deal.

After securing the game-winning TD against the Niners last week, Fulgham absolutely exploded onto the scene here against Pittsburgh. He finished the afternoon with 10 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown, repeatedly making tough catch after tough catch.

While someone like Greg Ward has routinely made his living working out of the slot the last 10+ games or so, Fulgham proved most valuable while operating on the outside. Even when matched up against someone as good as Joe Haden, Fulgham had zero problems hauling down contested catches.

The Eagles have really struggled in finding serviceable outside receivers over the last 2+ seasons, so stumbling upon a hidden gem in Fulgham would be much appreciated.

Oh, and shoutout to the Packers for cutting him this summer.
