Carson Wentz needs to just not suck.

It’s easier said than done, but the Philadelphia Eagles simply need Carson Wentz to play better moving forward.

Throw away all your Jalen Hurts fantasies for the moment, the Eagles have over $100 million invested into Wentz over the next couple of seasons. He is their franchise quarterback, and they need him to start being productive again.

Even if they did hypothetically want to trade him sometime in the near future, his current poor form is doing nothing but tank his value.

The Eagles offense will once again consist of a mirage of practice squad players this week, as the injury bug has hit the team to an extreme level. All three of Wentz’ starting WRs are injured, and his offensive line has been a revolving door this year (as previously mentioned).

There’s no easy path to success for Wentz on Sunday, but a performance in the realm of 200+ yards, 1 TD, and zero INTs would be a serious step in the right direction for the struggling QB.

I could have included a variety of other things on this list as well, as the recent injury craze is giving all sorts of young players a chance against the Niners. Cre’von LeBlanc could see some snaps at outside corner, K’Von Wallace might finally get some action, and guys like Travis Fulgham and Deontay Burnett will get their shot at igniting an abysmal Eagles WR room.

If we’re being honest, any sort of player development that occurs on Sunday should be viewed as a “win” for the Philadelphia Eagles, regardless of the position that it occurs at or what the final score says.
