Alshon Jeffery simply has to go.

I don’t care how bad the Eagles wide receiver room looks at the moment, the team just has to find a way to get Alshon Jeffery out of here. Not only has he struggled to be productive over the last two seasons, but he’s routinely caused problems within the locker room. For a team that’s already going through enough turmoil regarding their coaching staff and starting QB position, the last thing they need is Jeffery coming back into the building making more noise.

Outside of his well-documented injury struggles and locker room issues, Jeffery also carries a wicked high cap number heading into the 2021 season. At $18 million, it would make him one of the highest paid individuals on the entire Philadelphia Eagles roster.

The Eagles have failed to give Carson Wentz a true WR1 for five consecutive seasons now, and if they continue to keep a guy like Jeffery around on such a high salary, that malpractice will only continue.

As of right now, not a single team in the NFL should be interested in trading for Jeffery. However, if he can return in Week 5 and be somewhat productive on a WR needy Eagles offense, it’s possible that he could raise his trade value just a bit.

Shooting him away for a late seventh or even just a pick swap would be absolutely wonderful.
