Dallas Goedert is a future TE1.

While Zach Ertz was dropping crucial passes on fourth down, his TE counterpart was having the best game of his career.

Dallas Goedert finished the game with eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. He led all pass-catchers in the game in both yards and receptions, and repeatedly flashed elite level talent all afternoon long. He created separation in the short-yardage game, got open down the field, ran well once he got the ball in his hands, and blocked better than pretty much any of the team’s offensive linemen did.

Goedert has star potential, and he would be a TE1 on pretty much any team in the NFL not named the Eagles, Chiefs, Ravens, or 49ers. He’s gotten progressively better each season since being drafted in 2018, and it was really put on display on Sunday.

While it will ultimately crush diehard Eagles fans’ hearts, it does in fact appear that Ertz and the team are headed for a divorce. Ertz was noticeably upset on the field this past weekend, and further reports of him arguing with Howie Roseman surfaced just hours before the game kicked off.

When that separation does finally occur, it’s encouraging to know that the Philadelphia Eagles have a blossoming star in Goedert ready to step into the void.
