Heads might finally roll this year.

It’s been talked about quite a bit in recent years, the eventual organizational change that always comes in professional sports. Just how long is Howie Roseman’s leash? How many more seasons does Doug Pederson get? Will guys like Zach Ertz be in the team’s longterm plans?

Personally, I’ve almost always shut down these types of speculations. However, after seeing what looked to be a poorly constructed, poorly coached, and poorly designed football team on Sunday, the vibe is starting to swing the other way.

Two of Howie Roseman’s biggest investments in the draft the last two seasons were complete no-shows this week. Jalen Hurts couldn’t even crack the active roster, and JJ Arcega-Whiteside saw a whopping zero targets at WR.

Zach Ertz, who is seeking a massive contract extension, was thoroughly outplayed by his younger counterpart in Dallas Goedert. Fletcher Cox, who is on a $20+ million salary, recorded zero sacks against a horrible Washington O-Line. Guys like Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson, Alshon Jeffery, and Javon Hargrave have all received fat contracts in recent years, and all four of them were inactive as well.

The list goes on and on of guys who were once viewed as untouchable, who are now doing next to nothing to help this team win football games. Eventually this team is going to switch up its GM-HC duo, and it could be coming sooner rather than later depending on how this season shapes up.

The Philadelphia Eagles get to take on Aaron Donald and the LA Rams next weekend, in what will surely be yet another game highlighted by Philly’s inability to deal with pass rushers.
