John Hightower (WR)

John Hightower may be a name that’s on no-one’s Fantasy draft board, but the rookie WR really has a chance to surprise fantasy owners as a fifth-round pick out of Boise State University. Hightower has been thoroughly impressive during training camp according to several different Eagles media members.

One particular factor that heavily benefits Hightower early on is that previously mentioned first-round pick Jalen Reagor injured his shoulder during a training camp scrimmage, and could miss weeks 1-3 of the regular season. With Reagor out of the lineup, this could be Hightower’s chance to earn snaps going forward. Another factor that can’t go unnoticed is that Jeffrey is already injured and DJax (at age 33) is likely to miss at least a few games during the season based on his injury history.

Let’s talk about Hightower’s ability on the field and why people at Eagles training camp have been raving about him. Hightower had a total of 16 touchdowns from scrimmage in two years at Boise State, while averaging 43.4 yards per play on those touchdowns. With this type of explosive play ability you have to imagine Wentz is eager to connect with him.

While it’s likely that Hightower will go undrafted in your Fantasy draft, it’s also likely he could be a waiver wire warrior by Week 2 of the regular season. I can see Hightower as a valuable piece if someone gets injured as a WR3. Keep an eye on the rookie WR as well as the Philadelphia Eagles injury report.
