Philadelphia Eagles: 4 potential midseason Alshon Jeffery trades

The New York Jets are pretty much brought up anytime the Eagles start circulating in trade talks, but it’s for good reason. The Jets hired Philadelphia’s former “Vice President of Player Personnel (Joe Douglas) last year, and he has a very close relationship with current Eagles GM Howie Roseman.
Whenever the Eagles shop a player, it’s almost a guarantee that Douglas and the Jets are giving Roseman a call.
Outside of the personal link between the two team’s front offices, Douglas was also in house when the team initially signed Jeffery to a free agent contract. If Douglas signed off on the move then, he likely still has a level of affection for the player now. The Jets currently have very little in terms of established WR weapons on their roster, and they need to find a way to give Sam Darnold some help sooner rather than later.
Jeffery could also help mentor the team’s second-round pick in Denzel Mims this season, as they have a similar mold in terms of their ability to play the “X” receiver position.
While Jeffery in all reality is going to fetch very little on the market due to his exuberant salary, the Jets do have an abundance of draft picks following their Jamal Adams trade. This excess of capital may make it easier for them to justify shooting away a late-round pick for a bounce-back candidate like Jeffery.
