JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR

It’s time for the training camp hype and smack talking to end, second year WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside simply needs to produce when Week 1 rolls around.

For what it’s worth, it does appear that JJAW has been having a really impressive camp. He’s noticeably showed up in better shape, his drop numbers have gone down, and he’s been a red zone machine. JJAW appears far more comfortable within the offense, especially considering the fact that he’s been able to line up predominantly as an “X receiver”, his natural position in college.

Training camp clips and cocky sound bites are always fun, but the Philadelphia Eagles really just need their second-round pick from last year to take a massive step forward in 2020. JJAW had an absolutely abysmal rookie season, getting so bad that the team opted to run guys like Robert Davis and Shelton Gibson over him instead.

JJAW’s big-bodied and physical stature doesn’t really replace the void of speed that Reagor’s injury has now created, but he is still a player who should be able to catch a lot of TDs and contested balls. Even if he’s not running 50-yard streaks like Reagor would have been, he should be a reliable target across the middle of the field and in the red zone.

Next. The Philadelphia Phillies should have traded for Josh Hader. dark

Whoever it is, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to need someone to step up and fill Reagor’s shoes for at least a few weeks. Hopefully the team’s first-round pick is back in action shorty, because if he’s not, it could be yet another long season in the WR department.
