Cordy Glenn

I’m going to be pretty blunt with my assessment of Cordy Glenn, he’s not very good. However, when Week 1 is mere weeks away and you desperately need to sign an offensive tackle, this is about the quality of players you are usually left with.

A second-round pick in the 2012 NFL draft, Glenn was a crucial piece to the Buffalo Bills offensive line during the early stages of his career. The team’s regular starter at left tackle for five consecutive seasons, Glenn actually did enough to warrant a $65 million extension in 2016.

However, as injuries started to plague Glenn and his production, he was shipped off to Cincinnati in a trade which involved multiple draft picks. Glenn started just 18 total game across two seasons for the Bengals, before being released early into this year’s offseason process.

Glenn was actually suspended during the 2019 season as well, as he was involved in an internal “heated discussion” regarding his concussion protocol at the time. His suspension and injuries combined is what likely led to his release, and he’s been a free agent ever since.

Taking flyers on players who were just recently suspended isn’t normally up Howie Roseman’s alley, but he could be getting a tad desperate. The Philadelphia Eagles need offensive line depth, and Glenn at minimum has experience as a starting LT in the NFL.
