WRs who can actually catch a football.

The Philadelphia Eagles drop issues were excruciatingly bad last year. It would genuinely take me both hands to count how many times the team lost a game or blew a significant moment due to straight up dropped pass. Whether it was Nelson Agholor, Alshon Jeffery, or even JJ Arcega-Whiteside, the team just could not find reliable pass-catchers to lean on.

By the end of the 2019 season, Carson Wentz was throwing to random practice squad call-ups like Deontay Burnett, Robert Davis, and Josh Perkins during a legit division title clinching game. Heading into the offseason, it was obviously expected that the front office would be addressing the WR position with intense severity.

Roseman sat out of free agency, but was extremely active on draft night. He selected three wide receivers, including former TCU wideout Jalen Reagor in the first-round. Roseman also traded for veteran Marquise Goodwin, but he would later opt out due to COVID-19.

Even with Goodwin choosing to not play in 2020, the Eagles have built themselves a pretty dangerous group of speedy WRs. Reagor has gotten Julio Jones level comparisons this offseason, and both John Hightower and Quez Watkins have been impressive during training camp.

On top of that, last year’s practice squad hero Greg Ward has been taking starting snaps in the slot and veteran DeSean Jackson is coming back from his injury. Wentz and the Eagles realistically just need one or two of these guys to stick, opening up the field big time for their two tight end sets and their Miles Sanders-led running game.
