Noah Togiai, TE

The third highest paid UDFA that the Philadelphia Eagles snagged this offseason, tight end Noah Togiai not only has a decent chance to make the roster, but he also has a decent shot at playing significant snaps for the team during the regular season.

The Eagles have become notorious for running their 12-personnel, a formation where two pass-catching TEs are used with wide receivers flanking to the outside. Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert have experienced an abundance of success in this system, and barring any sort of serious injury (knock on wood!), this will be the primary offensive set that Pederson employs come September.

However, where the Eagles have struggled with in this regard is in finding a solid, reliable TE3. Ever since Trey Burton departed back in 2018, it’s really been a revolving door at the position. Richard Rodgers never really stuck, Josh Perkins has had flashes but can’t block, and the team just brought in former seventh-round pick Caleb Wilson to compete.

Not only did Togiai have an impressive senior season at Oregon State last year, but he also provides some potential longterm stability at the backup TE position.

He definitely needs to work on his blocking, but he could absolutely be a guy worth keeping around as the team’s TE3 in 2020 due to his pass-catching ability and his overall athleticism.
