Corey Clement

The leading receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52, fan favorite Corey Clement could unfortunately be on the outside looking in when it comes to the team’s running back room. After battling injuries for two consecutive years now, it wouldn’t be too big of a surprise to see Philly opt with someone younger as the team’s third/fourth back.

The Eagles RB1 and RB2 spot in the depth chart are pretty locked up at the moment, with Miles Sanders and Boston Scott filling said roles. However, the rest of the backfield is a little bit more inconclusive.

Clement was brought back on a cheap contract to compete for a spot on the team this offseason, but the lack of preseason games and some added competition around him could see his time in Philly come to an end.

Roseman and the Eagles added two UDFA running backs in Adrian Killens and Michael Warren, and claimed Elijah Holyfied off the Panthers’ practice squad late in the season last year. All three bring something different to the table when it comes to their running styles, and all three could make a genuine claim to a spot on the Eagles roster.

On top of that, Philly could still end up dipping into the free agency market. Veterans Devonta Freeman and Isaiah Crowell are both still out there, and both could bump Clement out of the rotation.
