The Philadelphia 76ers vs. the Orlando Magic

My goodness, what better way to finish out the regular season – even this weird, appreciated play-in tournament regular season – than a game against Markelle Fultz and the Orlando Magic a few miles away from their home turf?

Granted, the Sixers all but certainly can’t knock the Magic out of the playoffs, especially if they go 2-0 against the Washington Wizards, but hey, a win is a win, even if it doesn’t matter.

Now to be fair, Orlando hasn’t been particularly ‘Magical’ for the Sixers as of late, as the team has been pretty ineffective playing in ‘the City Beautiful’, in the state of Florida as a whole, and really, anywhere not named the Wells Fargo Center (more on that here) but after having five months off, I can’t think of a better way to ring in the playoffs than a big old playoff-prepping win over the Magic.

Call it a playoff trial run, if you will.

The Magic are a decent enough team. They have a few good players, most of whom are former members of the 76ers, and a should-have-been dunking champion in Aaron Gordon, but none of this should particularly scare Brett Brown’s squad one bit.

While any win in August should be celebrated by fans of the Philadephia 76ers, this one would be my personal favorite, especially if it thoroughly trounces Fultz and company in an impressive fashion.

Verdict: Sixers win.
