Scouting the Sixers’ final eight regular-season games
The Philadelphia 76ers vs. the Portland Trail Blazers
I’m also going to call it right now: This is the Philadelphia 76ers’ hardest game on their schedule.
Now I know what you are thinking, how can a game against a team 21.5 games out of first place in the Western Conference be that challenging? Well, you must not be paying attention.
Sure, 2019-20 has not been a good year for the Portland Trail Blazers, but Dame Lillard and company are going to be out for blood when the season eventually returns after almost being excluded from the playoffs entirely.
Factor in the presence of C.J. McCollum and the 76ers are set to face off against the best backcourt they may ultimately face for the rest of the year, which as you probably know, is the team’s Achilles’ heel.
Will the happy go lucky Sixers lose to the starving Trail Blazers? Probably but hopefully, Brett Brown and company can at least use it as a teaching moment to adjust their backcourt rotation before a potential playoff series against a team like the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers.
