877. . Safety. Mountaineers . Kenny Robinson. 146. player

If Terrell Burgess projects as the next Malcolm Jenkins and Amik Robertson is a potential long-term starter in the slot, then why not go for the trifecta and get the heir to Rodney McLeod in Kenny Robinson if he falls to the back of the fourth round?

One of the stranger prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft, as Robinson was effectively kicked out of West Virginia in 2018 and opted to join the XFL over transferring to an FCS school like Delaware, Robinson is the only player in this year’s class who has been paid to play football professionally – at least as far as we know.

Is selecting three non-corner defensive backs a tad excessive? Maybe yes, maybe no, but Robinson is a legit top-100 safety who may just be too good to pass up if he falls to the back of the fourth round.

Robinson may look a lot like Rasul Douglas physically, but he plays much more like a McLeod; that is, if McLeod was five inches taller.

Regardless of whether he’s lined up at single-high safety, two wide, or deployed in the box as a roaming playmaker, Robinson constantly finds ways to make plays on and around the ball due to his good eyes, great instincts, and great-for-a-safety hands.

Granted, it should be easy to have great vision when you’re one of the bigger players at your position in the league, but I digress.

If the Eagles want to draft a taller safety with long arms to help take on bigger slot receivers, and lighter tight ends, Robinson is head and shoulders the best option available on Day 3; that is, if he even lasts until Day 3.
