The Philadelphia 76ers and LA Clippers will meet on Tuesday night in a matchup that could be a preview of the Finals.

The Philadelphia 76ers have gotten back on track and are on a two-game winning streak. Now they are fifth in the standings.

They have a chance to end the first half of the season on a good note by beating a tough Los Angeles Clippers squad and going on a three-game winning streak.

The Clippers are the best team in the Western Conference as they have beaten the Los Angeles Lakers twice. Once home and once away. It looks like these two teams are destined to meet each other in the Western Conference Finals.

More from Philadelphia 76ers

Both the 76ers and Clippers are some of the top teams in defense. The Sixers are fourth in defensive rating and the Clippers are sixth. On the Clippers side, they have Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Patrick Beverley who are some of the best on-ball defenders in the league.

The Sixers have Ben Simmons who is first in the NBA in steals per game with 2.2 and Joel Embiid is a force down low. Last night he had four blocks against the Chicago Bulls.

Al Horford is also a force on the defensive end. When Josh Richardson comes back in the starting lineup he will add to this defensive juggernaut.

Both teams made deals during the trade deadline to boost their offense.

The Sixers acquired Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III from the Golden State Warriors. Robinson played last night and scored 10 points in 12 minutes. Burks was not able to play due to being on a red-eye flight.

He will be playing tomorrow night.

The Sixers needed more scoring coming off the bench and in the trade during the deadline they were able to do just that.

The Clippers were able to acquire Marcus Morris from the New York Knicks. In Morris, they were able to get a third option to complement George and Leonard on the offensive end. Also, he is another tough defender.

Both these teams have players who will be playing in the All-Star game on Sunday. The Sixers have Simmons and Embiid and the Clippers have Leonard.

The matchup will be an intriguing one due to the talent on both teams and the ability to have bragging rights in a head to head matchup. This could be a preview of the Finals if the Sixers are able to improve their game.
