Eagles could be in trouble if Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson are both gone after 2019

Could the Philadelphia Eagles move on from both Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson during the offseason?
Back in the offseason, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles passing game since DeSean Jackson would be teaming up with Alshon Jeffery to potentially give the offense a new dynamic duo to work with.
During Week 1, this appeared to be the case after Jackson caught eight passes for 154 yards to go along with two trips into the end zone while Jeffery hauled in five catches for 49 yards with a score as well.
One game certainly wasn’t going to determine how the rest of the season would turn out, but it certainly brought a ton of excitement to the fan base.
With that being said, Eagles fans would unfortunately only get to see this wide-receiving duo once in 2019 since Jackson got hurt in Week 2, and hasn’t been able to play a single game for Philadelphia since.
Meanwhile, Jeffery staying healthy as been a problem as well throughout the 2019 season, making it easy to understand why the offense has struggled so much at times over the last few months.
When both players are healthy, there’s no question that Jeffery and Jackson have proven to be two of the most dangerous receivers in the league, but this season has made it clear there future status with the team is in question.
Recently, former Eagles president Joe Banner did an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer in which he was asked his thoughts about the futures of Jeffery and Jackson in the City of Brotherly Love.
And while some fans were caught off guard to hear Banner’s belief that both Jeffery and Jackson will be gone in 2020, if this were to end up being the case, Philadelphia could be in trouble when it comes to their passing game.
The last few months are the perfect example of just how much this Eagles’ offense can struggle without their two wideouts. And if this is a sign of what 2020 could be like if both Jeffery and Jackson happen to be gone, this will put even more pressure on Philadelphia’s offense.
Obviously, the Eagles would most likely come up with some sort of plan, whether it happens to be free agency or the draft, to help fill the voids, but the concerns are still going to be there, no matter what.
Philadelphia fans can only imagine how different things would be this season on offense without the injuries to their two top wideouts, but at least Jeffery is on track to play on Sunday.
Nothing is guaranteed, and Philadelphia has plenty of time to decide on what they want to do next season, but if both Jeffery and Jackson happen to be out of the picture, it will be interesting to see how the Eagles adjust.
