The Philadelphia Eagles can’t afford to lose to the Miami Dolphins in Week 13 after receiving a gift from the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day with a loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles weren’t playing on Thanksgiving Day, as they continue to prepare for Sunday’s Week 13 meeting with the Miami Dolphins, the team did receive some surprise help on Thanksgiving Day.

Despite the Buffalo Bills making a strong case at times as a top contender in the AFC, a meeting with the Dallas Cowboys on the road Thursday seemed like it would put Sean McDermott’s team at a major disadvantage.

With the Cowboys facing a ton of pressure after coming up short on the road last weekend against the New England Patriots, Dallas playing at home on Thanksgiving in front of their fans seemed like the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

Not to mention, if the Cowboys found a way to take down the Bills, this would guarantee that Dallas would at least have a full-game lead over Philadelphia in the division race heading into Week 14, depending on what took place in Miami on Sunday.

Instead, the Cowboys looked absolutely awful against the Bills in front of a national audience, and would go on to lost to Buffalo 26-15, setting Philadelphia up to possibly be tied with Dallas by the end of the weekend if they can find a way to win in Miami.

But since there are no guarantees in the NFL, and the Eagles haven’t exactly been the most impressive team over the last few weeks, the last thing they can afford to do is assume this will be an easy win come Sunday.

Miami may be considered one of the biggest laughing stocks in the league at the moment, but this team would love nothing more than to play spoiler role for some teams during these final five weeks.

Looking too far down the road isn’t exactly the best idea in the world at the moment, but one can only imagine how intense things are going to be when Philadelphia and Dallas square off towards the end of December in Week 16.

Based off the remaining schedules for each team, chances are the NFC East title will be decided this weekend, but first here’s to hoping the Eagles find a way to make sure they take down the Dolphins, or Week 13 will be considered another wasted opportunity for Philadelphia.
