No. 9: LeSean McCoy

I never said that the players on this list had to be model citizens. So, while there’s a lot of baggage with LeSean McCoy, let’s steer clear of that and just focus on his performance on the gridiron for the Eagles.

And what a career in Midnight Green it was for the former second-round pick out of the University of Pittsburgh.

Following a decent rookie performance in 2009, McCoy began this decade by recording 1,080 rushing yards in 2010. In 2011, he led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection in the process.

2012 was a down year for McCoy, but he absolutely exploded in 2013 under first year head coach Chip Kelly, before we all came to the sobering realization about that guy.

McCoy led the NFL in rushing yards, also establishing an Eagles franchise record with 1,607 on the season. His signature performance came on Dec. 8 of that season, when he racked up 217 yards in the snow against the Detroit Lions, which set a new Eagles single-game record.

During the 2014 season, McCoy would become the franchise’s all-time leading rusher before he was unceremoniously traded away by Kelly a few months later.

Regardless of your feelings about him, and they’re probably not good, I feel that McCoy’s half-decade stretch from 2010-2014 was just too good to keep him from being on this list.
