Philadelphia 76ers: 5 must-see November matchups
The NBA season is an 82-game trek. It would be foolish to think every individual contest carries with it a similar weight of importance. However, the Philadelphia 76ers schedule has some solid November matchups worthy of attention.
Inherently, November NBA basketball is void of playoff intensity or late-season drama.
With the NBA playoffs months away, an early-season loss or two won’t drastically change a team’s playoff fate. Teams have taken this into account, as resting players has become a hot topic in the NBA.
Just recently, a press release from NBA communications stated Los Angeles Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers was fined $50,000 for his comments on Kawhi Leonard’s health.
Rivers said Kawhi “feels great,” and the NBA deemed this inconsistent with what the NBA called “an ongoing injury to the patella tendon in (Kawhi’s) left knee.”
The NBA has a product to protect, and it makes sense that they would want to keep early season games as relevant as possible by featuring stars like Leonard.
The NBA consists of a small group of teams in title contention, along with a small group of teams with little chance of any success this season. In between exists a puddle of teams stuck in everlasting mediocrity.
Thus, there is expected to be a few clunkers on the schedule for an elite team like the Philadelphia 76ers.
Fear not Sixers fans: luckily, the NBA graced the Sixers with some compelling contests in the first full month of the season.
