Could the Philadelphia Eagles pull off a blockbuster deal before the trade deadline involving Mike Evans?

Since the Philadelphia Eagles already pulled off a big trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason for DeSean Jackson, the chances of the two teams working out another deal involving Mike Evans seems highly unlikely before the deadline.

However, anything is possible when it comes to the NFL, and if the Eagles were to make an offer for Evans the Buccaneers couldn’t refuse, maybe there would be hope after all leading up to the deadline late Tuesday afternoon.

Long shot or not, it never hurts for a team like Philadelphia to wish for a certain player with the skill set Evans would bring to the table since he’s one of the best receivers in the league for a reason.

Football fans can say whatever they want about the frustrations surrounding Evans at times throughout his career, but also it’s tough not to wonder how different things would be if the wideout were on a better team.

No one needs to explain just how frustrating it’s been to watch Tampa Bay at times over the years since this has been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL.

And while any potential deal involving Evans would most likely come at a hefty price, this could be worth it for the Eagles in the long run when it comes to making sure the offense remains in the best shape possible.

Take a look at this past weekend for example when Evans hauled in 11 catches for 198 yards with two touchdowns in a loss to the Tennessee Titans, and it’s tough not to wonder how much he would flourish playing in Philadelphia’s offense if the opportunity were to present itself.

Of course, in order for this to happen, the Buccaneers would need to be willing to give up Evans, which is obviously tough since they know just how much of a difference maker the wideout can be on offense.

Still, as previously mentioned, most players across the NFL have some sort of asking price when it comes to potential trades, and since Howie Roseman has been known to pull off unexpected trades before, maybe he could find a way to work his magic once again.

If not, well the good news for the Eagles is there are a few other receivers that appear to be available leading up to the deadline, although the argument can be made that none are close to being on the same level as Evans.
