The Philadelphia Eagles had zero answers on Sunday trying to keep Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs in check.

When looking at all of the injuries surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles on defense, there was some concern over how the unit would look against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, especially with the duo of Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs.

Despite some of the recent struggles surrounding the Vikings, football fans have seen plenty of times just how dangerous Cousins and Diggs can be when on top of their game.

And while the Eagles knew their defense would be in for a major challenge by trying to keep these two in check, it’s safe to say that no one expected this kind of day from Cousins or Diggs.

While it was already impressive to see Cousins finish the day with four touchdown passes to go along with 333 passing yards, it was even more impressive to see three of those touchdowns go to Diggs, who finished the game with seven catches for 167 yards as well.

Throughout his career, Diggs has proven to be capable of being one of the most dangerous receivers in the league since his blazing speed always seems to give the wideout an advantage over opponents, but Sunday’s performance against Philadelphia was just insane.

No matter who the Eagles seemed to put on Diggs, the speedster always seemed to find a way to get open, and this was certainly the kind of performance Cousins needed on his end to provide the quarterback with a little extra confidence heading into Week 7.

To say Philadelphia has been struggling at the cornerback position over the last few weeks would be a huge understatement, and Sunday’s loss to the Vikings made it clear they may need to explore other options before the trade deadline.

Nothing against Diggs or Cousins since the two deserve plenty of credit for their impressive performances on Sunday, but there’s no excuse for the Eagles to look this bad on the defensive side of the football.

Once again, Diggs and Cousins exposed a major weakness on the defensive side of the football for Philadelphia that has been an issue for most of the season by connecting for three touchdowns in Week 6.

A single loss certainly doesn’t determine how the rest of the season will go, but when looking at some of the other tough offenses the Eagles still need to face over the next few weeks, Philadelphia could be in serious trouble if Sunday is any indication.
