With Jalen Ramsey off the market, here are five cornerbacks the Philadelphia Eagles could target in the lead up to the October 29th trade deadline.

After dismantling the New York Jets 31-6 behind a historic 10 sack and two touchdown performance by Jim Schwartz‘s defense – not to mention a Cowboys loss to Green Bay – the Philadelphia Eagles are technically tied for first place in the NFC East with a 3-2 record.

Although this is something fans should be happy with, there’s no denying beating up on a (now) 0-4 Jets team with a mono-laced Sam Darnold on the sideline is the football equivalent of donning a pair rose-tinted glasses.

Even with Nate Gerry, the ‘White Snake’, snagging a pass out of the air like a viper striking its prey and bringing it to the house for six, and Orlando Scandrick meeting Luke Faulk in the backfield to snatch the ball away with a quick “Mine!” surely popping into his head before twisting around and returning that for another defensive touchdown, the Eagles should still look to bring in some help on the defensive side of the ball.

Yes, Scandrick, Gerry, and even Craig James showed promise with good performances versus the Jets, it has to be remembered it’s the Jets without their starting quarterback, and take such performances with a pinch of salt. With all due respect to these players, they simply shouldn’t be an option in the starting line-up and would be better suited in next-man up situations and special team roles.

Like it’s been proven before, Howie Roseman isn’t afraid to come out of nowhere and make a deal for a player he feels can boost the team’s chances of winning. This year the clock just might be ticking, and it may be getting close to Howie time. The question is, who could he be going after?
