1. Smallwood, Adams won’t be missed

Since the Eagles seemed to be set with their top four running backs in Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Darren Sproles, and Corey Clement, there was plenty of speculation over the possibility of Philadelphia waiving Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams.

While Smallwood has always been one of those running backs that always seems to continue sticking around just for depth purposes, Adams made a name for himself last summer after signing with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

Also, due to Philadelphia dealing with all sorts of injuries at the running back position during the 2018 season, Adams would end up leading the team in rushing, although hanging on the football has unfortunately been a major concern as well for the former Notre Dame star.

Even during the preseason, the Eagles seemed to give Adams plenty of opportunities to prove himself worthy of a roster spot, yet the same concerns seemed to still be there.

Taking all things into consideration, Philadelphia has every reason in the world to be thrilled over their current situation at running back with four studs who all seem capable of contributing in a big way in 2019.

Chances are Smallwood and Adams will end up receiving other opportunities on a different team, but moving on from both running backs seemed best for both parties all things considered.
