The Philadelphia Eagles officially trimmed their roster down to 53 players before Saturday’s deadline.

After weeks of speculation and predictions, the Philadelphia Eagles finally trimmed down their 53-man roster before Saturday’s deadline, leaving fans with plenty to talk about.

This time of year, it’s always exciting to see all of the hard work pay off for certain players battling for roster spots, but also disappointing for the ones who end up coming up short.

For the most part, it’s safe to assume the Eagles had a pretty good idea for weeks over which players were locks to be on the roster for the 2019 season, but just like previous years, the preseason left the staff with plenty of tough decisions to make.

From running back to defensive end, there were plenty of great position battles worth monitoring for Philadelphia over the last couple of months, and with the 53-man roster officially in place, now comes the fun part of officially preparing for Week 1.

Eagles fans have been waiting months for the first game of 2019 to arrive against the Washington Redskins to see if this team has what it takes to earn another trip to the playoffs for a third year in row.

But first, instead of jumping too far ahead, it only seems fair to discuss some key reactions, both good and bad, to Philadelphia making the 53-man roster official on Saturday since there’s certainly plenty to talk about.

So without wasting anymore time, let’s jump right into the discussion over the latest decisions by the Eagles to help prepare fans for the upcoming season.
