Another offseason video of Ben Simmons nailing jump shots has Philadelphia 76ers fans feeling all sorts of excitement.

Since Jimmy Butler and J.J. Redick are no longer part of the picture, all eyes on the upcoming 2019-20 season for the Philadelphia 76ers will be on which players can step up in the shooting department, especially Ben Simmons.

Over the previous two seasons, Simmons has quickly worked his way into becoming one of the league’s top young players on the rise, but it’s been no secret just how much the guard has struggled in the shooting department.

Like some of the other all-time greats who have played the game, the Sixers seemed to have cared more over Simmons’ ability to make up for the shooting in other departments, whether it happens to be rebounds or simply assists.

However, after watching Philadelphia come up short in the semifinals of the playoffs for a second year in a row, it’s become clear that in order for the Sixers to become the top contender in the Eastern Conference, Simmons needs to work on his jumper.

The good news for Philadelphia and their beloved fans is after signing a whopping extension this summer, Simmons will hopefully be feeling a little extra motivation to make sure he attempts more jump shots next season.

Not to mention, with another video hitting social media this week consisting of Simmons drilling 3-point shots, it seems like the Sixers star has in fact been putting in the work this summer, although he still has a long way to go.

But once again, as exciting as this is to see, the real test has yet to come for Simmons and the Sixers since the biggest question has yet to be answered in whether this can take place in meaningful games a few months from now.

While Simmons still deserves the credit for showing that he’s been working on his jumper over the last few months, just because certain videos on social media make him look good doesn’t necessarily mean the success is a guarantee.

Until Simmons can prove himself in a meaningful game, the excitement level for Sixers fans over his jumper should be held to a minimum, because if the upcoming season shows similar results to the previous two years, it’s only going to lead to disappointment.
