The Philadelphia Eagles came in at No. 1 on PFF rankings for top receiving corps in the NFL heading into the 2019 season.

When looking at the talent the Philadelphia Eagles have to work with on paper, there’s every reason to believe this team will live up to the hype in 2019 by earning a third trip in a row to the playoffs.

From Carson Wentz looking sharper than ever throughout training camp along with Jim Schwartz having all sorts of dangerous talent to work with on the defensive side of the football, the Eagles are going to be a difficult team to beat during the 2019 season.

Speaking of Wentz, all eyes will be on the former first-round pick to see if he has what it takes to be healthy after dealing with a few injuries over the last two seasons ranging from a torn ACL to his back.

Unlike last year, Wentz isn’t facing as much pressure to rush back before the start of Week 1 since he’s been fortunate enough to have plenty of recovery time, and if he does manage to stay healthy, one can only imagine the kind of numbers he’s going to put up.

Talent wise, Philadelphia’s receiving corps was already considered to be one of the best in the NFL thanks to reliable targets such as Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz.

But with a successful offseason that saw the Eagles bring back DeSean Jackson along with drafting J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, this unit is expected to cause all sorts of problems for opponents over the next couple of years.

With that being said, the folks from Pro Football Focus recently put together another one of their lists consisting of the top receiving corps in the NFL, with the Eagles finishing in the top spot.

Football fans already knew that Philadelphia was stacked in the department, but the argument can be made that seeing the unit finish in the top spot ahead of the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams came as a bit of a surprise.

As much of an honor as this is for the Eagles, it also adds additional pressure for the group heading into the 2019 season in regards to proving they do in fact deserve to be in the top spot over the rest of the competition.

Watching Philadelphia come up short in the Divisional Round last January against the New Orleans Saints left the Eagles with plenty to think about his offseason when it comes to wondering what could have been.

Assuming that everyone stays healthy, and the receiving corps lives up to the hype, the good news for the Eagles is they will most likely be in the perfect position to redeem themselves once the time comes a few months from now.
