2. Who could be odd-man out in backfield with Sproles back?

In what came as a big surprise to some fans, the Eagles recently announced that Darren Sproles would be returning to the team on a friendly one-year deal instead of calling it a career by retiring.

Over the years, there have been plenty of times in which Sproles has been an effective weapon for the Eagles on both offense and special teams, but whether this was the right move is a different story.

Pederson has always been a major fan of Sproles, and seems to do whatever it takes to find ways to use the veteran speedster when possible, but also the last thing Philadelphia needs is to see his involvement take carries away from other running backs.

Since Howard and Sanders obviously don’t have to worry about losing their jobs on offense, all eyes will be on Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams during training camp to see if either running back could end up being the odd-man out as a result of Sproles.

Philadelphia fans can question whether Corey Clement deserves to be part of the discussion as well, but unlike Smallwood and Adams, at least he’s proven to have what it takes to be reliable on offense before, despite what took place in 2018.
