Wrap-up

Defense wins championships is a quote the Eagles somehow made true in a high scoring Super Bowl – finding possibly the two most clutch plays for Philly happening on the defensive side of the ball.

Going into their second year removed from capturing a literal singular grand moment that will never be duplicated (in Philadelphia), the Eagles will look to capture a fairly similar feeling. The quest to get back to the Super Bowl and to bring back the Lombardi Trophy has already started and each camp, position battle, roster move, and preseason game is only the beginning.

The Philadelphia Eagles know just like creating a high-powered offense, they need a shutdown dominate defense. Getting some key players back like Rodney McLeod and Vinny Curry should help recapture some of that 2017 magic. While at the same time, having vet players still taking the reigns like Malcolm Jenkins and Brandon Graham should help the new and younger players get on the right path for individual and team success.

Next. Philadelphia Eagles should have moved on from Darren Sproles. dark

This 2019 Eagles team and defense isn’t just getting hometown love but is even getting a top 10 projected ranking by Pro Football Focus in run defense. At the same exact time, PFF is showing Philly’s defense some brotherly love by projecting the Eagle’s pass rush to be the best of all 32 teams. The hype is much deserved for this upcoming season, especially with this (most likely) improved defensive unit. Are you hyped to see this defense ball out in 2019?
