Philadelphia 76ers: 2019 NBA Draft prospect primer
With the 2019 NBA Draft finally upon us, here a compilation of prospect profiles for players who could end up being Philadelphia 76ers.
It’s here folks; it’s finally here: after suffering the unluckiest loss in (Philly) sports history, the Philadelphia 76ers are about to add their next class of prospects in an attempt to reload for another deep playoff run.
With only five players currently under contract and $46 million available to spend in free agency, this year’s draft will be incredibly telling to see how the franchise plans to tackle free agency, and hopes to build for the 2019-20 season.
Who knows, maybe the team will catch lightning in a bottle two summers in a row and steal another Landry Shamet-type performer in the back half of the first round, or maybe even with one of their four second-round picks.
Will it be easy? Nope, scouting players is a very inexact science, especially outside the top-5 (or in some drafts top-2), but with a solid collection of former players, experienced coaches, and analytics experts filling out the Sixers’ war room, fans in the 215 should expect at least a few contributors to come out of this year’s draft class, and maybe even a few potential starters of they play their cards right.
But who should the Philadelphia 76ers target with the 24th, 33rd, 34th, 42nd, and 54th overall selections? Here is a compilation of our 2019 NBA Draft prospect profiles, many of whom would be excellent, cost-controlled additions to the team moving forward.
