Jake Arrieta

Jake Arrieta has been pretty good in 2019. He currently sits at 5-4 with a 3.60 ERA over 11 starts. Pretty good numbers, but he may be looked at as too inconsistent to be considered for the All-Star team.

Even if Arrieta gets hot over the next month, it will be tough for him to crack the roster when you consider all of the other really good pitchers in the National League. Arrieta made the team back in 2016 and if things go right, there is a shot he could be back.

Andrew McCutchen

Andrew McCutchen is a five-time All-Star, but he has not been to the Midsummer Classic since 2015, which was his fifth of five appearances in a row. He has been solid this season, but probably not good enough to make the team.

McCutchen has heated up as of late, and if he can continue to stay hot in June, then he may have an argument. It would take a lot considering all the outfield talent in the National League, but if he continues to play well, then he certainly has a shot.

Adam Morgan

This one may be the longest shot of all, and it doesn’t help that Adam Morgan was just placed on the ten-day Injured List. But, when he has been healthy, Morgan has looked really good. He currently has 1.96 ERA over 24 appearances.

Not too shabby.

It would most certainly be a long-shot if Morgan made the All-Star team, but anything is possible and we have seen crazier things before. If he comes back soon and has a really good June, his stats could maybe be too good to pass up on for the National League roster.

So, with that being said, there are 10 Philadelphia Phillies who should be considered for the 2019 All-Star Game. How many of them will make it? That remains to be seen. But, Phillies fans, make sure you are voting to get as many Phillies to the Midsummer Classic as possible!
