Round 2, Pick 53: Linebacker Mack Wilson, Alabama

Would it be wise for the Eagles to use each of their first two picks on the defensive side of the football? Well, since Philadelphia is fortunate enough to have two picks in the second round, this makes it easier to go through with.

Dating back to last season, linebacker was one of the weaker areas for Philadelphia on the defensive side of the football, and once the draft does get underway, it seems likely they will address the need early on.

Over the years, Alabama has seen plenty of defenders go on to have successful careers in the NFL as a result of Nick Saban being one of the best coaches in college football, and it seems like only a matter of time before Mack Wilson adds his name to that impressive list.

Between his impressive burst along with ability to break through blockers, Wilson will bring a lot to the table once he finds a home in the NFL, whether it happens to be with the Eagles or someone else.

As tempting as it would be for some teams to consider Wilson opening night, early signs point to the linebacker going in the second round, which would work out perfect for Philadelphia if the interest was there since they could then use the No. 25 pick on a different position.
