Cornerback

Now for the defensive backs, corners specifically.

The Philadelphia Eagles secondary was injury plagued last season Ronald Darby only played nine games but did defend 12 passes as well as snagging an interception. Jalen Mills played in only eight games defending nine passes. Sidney Jones played in nine games with four starts with two passes defended and 21 solo tackles. With these injuries though the Eagles had young guys step up like rookie Avonte Maddox who played in 13 games starting in nine as a corner and a safety defending four passes but recording two interceptions and forcing a fumble.

Another corner to step up was second-year player Rasul Douglas who played in 16 games starting in one less than half of them. Douglas was able to snatch up three interceptions and had a total of 48 solo tackles.

Then there’s Cre’von LeBlanc who tallied up 20 tackles in eight games and four starts for the Eagles.

There’s also Tre Sullivan who recorded 12 solo tackles and a fumble recovery.  With these guys stepping up without the starters available last year, Philly may not draft any corners and put their full faith in who they already have.

Just in case they do draft a corner here’s a list of possible second to honestly seventh-round prospects: Deandre Baker, Rock Ya-Sin, Julian Love, Lonnie Johnson, Iman Marshall, Isaiah Johnson, Corey Ballentine, Michael Jackson, Xavier Crawford, Mark Fields, Blessuan Austin, Jamal Paeters, and Blace Brown.
