With the 2019 schedule coming out Wednesday night, one report claims the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Washington Redskins for Week 1.

Instead of focusing on the upcoming draft, Philadelphia Eagles fans will be fully focused on the release of the 2019 schedule, which will officially be out Wednesday night.

After coming up short of defending their Super Bowl title last winter by falling to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, all eyes will be on the Eagles to see if this team has what it takes to make a third trip in a row to the postseason.

Talent wise, there’s every reason to believe this will happen for Philadelphia, especially when looking at all of the attention surrounding DeSean Jackson being back in the picture after the team acquired the speedy veteran through a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the full schedule hasn’t fully been released, it looks like Eagles fans already know their opponent for Week 1 with a familiar face in the Washington Redskins.

One can only imagine how different things would have played out in the NFC East last season if Alex Smith didn’t suffer that devastating leg injury. And even though Case Keenum may not seem like that much of a threat for the short-term answer in 2019, the Redskins’ defense could cause some problems for the Eagles.

Washington’s defense was already pretty solid for the most part throughout the 2018 season, and after landing one of the top free agents from this year’s class in Landon Collins, the unit could be even more dangerous this year.

Philadelphia and the Dallas Cowboys may be the two early favorites to finish on top of the division, but also both teams are smart enough to know that Washington could end up surprising a lot of football fans by being more of a threat than expected.

As for the rest of the schedule, well Eagles fans will unfortunately need to wait a few more hours since little by little seems to be coming out for now instead of the full release.

This may not seem like a preference for fans, but at least with the Redskins reportedly scheduled to come to Lincoln Financial Field for that first weekend, it gives them an extra sense of excitement.
