5. Sign Abdullah

Would a running back like Ameer Abdullah solve all of Philadelphia’s problems at running back? Obviously, the answer to this is no since Abdullah only has a career high of 597 rushing yards, but this doesn’t mean the Eagles should avoid the former Nebraska star.

Back in 2015 when the Detroit Lions decided to use a second-round pick on Abdullah, the assumption was always that he would develop into a top running back in the league, which obviously hasn’t been the case.

Once the Lions decided to give up on the running back in the middle of the 2018 season, the Minnesota Vikings were hoping to end up with a steal when they claimed Abdullah off waivers, which resulted in only one catch for 10 yards the rest of the year in seven games.

At this stage in his career, Abdullah seems like he desperately needs a fresh start with a new team to help turn things around before it’s too late. And as for whether the Eagles would even consider Abdullah despite how much of a disappointment he’s been, at least if the team were to look at this option, they would be able to get him at a fair price.
