5 running back options still available for Eagles to consider in 2019
By Dan Parzych
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to add another running back at some point during the offseason.
As Philadelphia Eagles continue to wonder how the team missed out on Tevin Coleman since the running back seemed like he would be a great fit at the perfect price, the good news for Doug Pederson‘s squad is there are still plenty of other great options to consider moving forward.
After finding plenty of success with a strong ground game from their Super Bowl run during the 2017 season, the Eagles took a bit of a step back last year, although the argument can be made that injuries played a major role in the reasoning behind this happening.
From Jay Ajayi suffering a torn ACL to Darren Sproles dealing with a hamstring injury, to say Philadelphia was hurting at running back would be a huge understatement, but at least there is always room for improvement before the 2019 season arrives.
Without question, Pederson would love nothing more than to return to that effective level from that season to make sure the unit is in the best position possible for 2019, especially if it helps take a ton of pressure off Carson Wentz under center.
Since there are still questions over whether players like Corey Clement or Josh Adams can find ways to make a bigger impact next season, this is one of the many reasons that Philadelphia was expected to strongly consider a running back at some point in the offseason.
Now that the new NFL year is officially underway, let’s take a look at some options that are still available for the Eagles at the position to give them a better chance of earning a trip to the playoffs in 2019 for a third year in a row.
