The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Friday that Brandon Graham agreed to a three-year extension with the team to keep the defense in great shape.

Entering the offseason, one of the biggest questions surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles was whether the team would be able to figure out a way to bring Brandon Graham back since his contract was officially up.

Talent wise, the Eagles obviously wanted to see Graham back in the picture since he’s been one of the most valuable members of the defense over the years, and will forever be remembered for the impact made during the team’s Super Bowl run from the 2017 season.

However, as every football player and fan knows, the money factor always comes into play at some point, even for someone like Graham.

All along, one of the biggest concerns is whether Graham would ever consider a hometown discount from Philadelphia after all these years or simply hit the open market since plenty of teams in need of a defensive end would be more than willing to open their checkbooks.

Luckily, the Eagles no longer have to worry about this scenario happening now that it was announced on Friday that Graham agreed to a three-year contract extension, which came as quite the surprise for the first day of March since free agency doesn’t begin for another few weeks.

Without question, Graham’s impact on the field, and leadership skills are almost irreplaceable, so it’s great to see Philadelphia take care of business at this point in the offseason just to get any concerns out of the way.

Now that Graham is officially back on board for a few more years, the next focus for the Eagles after the combine will be on determining which players are worth re-signing for the 2019, and which players should be targeted in free agency to help fill certain team needs.

The offseason is still young, and Philadelphia still has a lot of work on their plate when it comes to making sure they live up to the hype once again in 2019, by getting this Graham done out of the way is a huge accomplishment.
