New Bryce Harper rumors now claim things are intensifying, Phillies may be favorites

Are the Philadelphia Phillies the latest favorites to land star outfielder Bryce Harper in free agency?
For months, Philadelphia Phillies fans have been trying to be patient over the thought of Bryce Harper joining the team for the 2019 season, as the star outfielder has been considered one of the top free agents from this year’s class along with Manny Machado.
Back in January when the Phillies met with Harper in Las Vegas, it seemed like only a matter of time before a deal was reached after seeing how the two sides appeared to hit it off. But with the end of February less than two weeks away, there are still no answers in regards to where Harper may end up for 2019.
With that being said, baseball fans could be on the verge of finally learning the answer they’ve spent months waiting for when hearing the latest rumors surrounding Harper potentially reaching a decision sooner rather than later.

In fact, Philadelphia fans have been trying to hold back their excitement all of Sunday over the latest rumors of how talks with Harper finally reaching a deal are intensifying, and the Phillies may actually be the favorites, although nothing is set in stone at the moment.
Things are heating up with Harper. Intensified is the word I heard. Phillies are the favorite, but word remains that nothing’s done yet. Will be a long-term deal.

As things heat up, hear Harper is talking to other teams beyond Philly, and Philly is still talking to both Harper and Machado. Feels like Philly-Harper is the most likely match at this point tho.

Does this mean the Phillies and their fans could be on the verge of finally hearing the news they’ve spent months waiting for? While Philadelphia should do their best not to get too excited until a deal is officially in place since this isn’t the first time rumors regarding Harper have heated up, this situation feels different.
Since spring training is already underway for the Phillies, and Harper is running out of time when it comes to having to choose a team, it’s only a matter of time before a final decision is made.
For the sake of Philadelphia fans, here’s to hoping that Harper realizes the potential in joining a younger team on the rise in the Phillies to put the them in better position to make a run at the World Series.

Otherwise, it could be a long week in the City of Brotherly Love if Harper chooses a different team since going from excitement to disappointment would be absolutely crushing for the fan base, so here’s to hoping for the best.
