7. Nate Sudfeld

Assuming that all of the assumption surrounding Foles ending up elsewhere comes true, Philadelphia will have to figure out whether they feel confident in Nate Sudfeld being able to handle the backup job behind Carson Wentz.

Despite some of the potential displayed at times over the previous two seasons, the verdict is still out on Sudfeld, and if he can be a reliable quarterback in the NFL since he really hasn’t seen that much playing experience.

It was one thing when Sudfeld was the No. 3 option this past season behind Wentz and Foles, but becoming the official backup brings a whole new level of pressure.

By agreeing to bring Sudfeld back for another year, Philadelphia would need to feel extremely confident in being able to rely on the former Indiana star since there will also be some concerns surrounding Wentz’s ability to be healthy.

Then again, since Wentz will have more time to recover this time around since the injury isn’t as serious, staying healthy shouldn’t be an issue this time around, and someone like Sudfeld won’t be needed in action on Sundays.

But since there are no guarantees in the NFL for players staying healthy, the Eagles need to make sure they have the right backup, whether it’s Sudfeld or someone else.
