Even though DeSean Jackson expressed his desire to play for the Los Angeles Rams, the Philadelphia Eagles should still make sure to avoid a reunion with the wideout.

Over the last couple of years, there have been in times in which rumors would emerge surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles over a possible reunion with DeSean Jackson since it’s been five seasons since the veteran wideout was released by the team.

However, as Jackson and Eagles fans remember well, Chip Kelly played a major role in the decision to release the speedster after a Pro Bowl season in 2013 when he caught 82 passes for 1,332 yards to go along with nine touchdowns, meaning there wouldn’t be anymore bad blood.

With that being said, Jackson was one of the popular topics of discussion on Wednesday after making an interesting statement during an interview regarding his desire to play for the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.

That’s right, Jackson, who is technically still under contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, made a reference about playing for a different team during the 2019 season, which doesn’t seem like the smartest idea for the veteran since one can only imagine how his teammates must feel.

First off, it seems highly unlikely that Sean McVay would be open for a reunion since the Rams are already loaded with talent at wide receiver, and spending money on another player at the position when it can be used elsewhere just sounds ridiculous.

Second, even though Jackson didn’t mention the Eagles in his comments, it seems clear that he wants out of Tampa Bay, meaning the Buccaneers could look into a trade or simply just move on from the speedster with a release.

If this happens to be the case, Philadelphia should avoid a potential reunion with Jackson at all costs, even if the team will be looking to fill a need at the wide receiver position during the offseason.

Maybe a few years ago, there was a time when a potential reunion made sense, but with Jackson being up there in age (32) along with the fact that his press conference made it clear he can still be a headache at times, this simply wouldn’t be worth it for the Eagles.

Instead of bringing back someone like Jackson if he were to become available, Philadelphia would seem better off looking to add someone in the draft since this year’s class will have plenty of talent to choose from once again.

As for Jackson, it will be interesting to see how his situation will play out since one can only imagine how the Buccaneers are feeling about his comments, although at least the Eagles don’t have to deal with this latest mess since he’s no longer their problem.
